Reinstalling the OS is drastic for Antivirus 2008
Topic: Antivirus 2008

One way I’ve heard of people handling virus infections like Antivirus 2008 is that they’ll completely reinstall Windows.  Though it’s effective, I’d say it’s pretty drastic, not to mention time consuming.

First of all, you have to back up everything, unless you don’t care if you lose it.  For most people, I imagine that’s not the case.  That alone takes more hours than the average workday, unless you have a super-fast computer.

The next thing is reinstalling Windows.  Again, this could take a full workday.  Not to mention the possibility that you might make a wrong setting, and totally have to redo the whole thing.

Finally, you have to get all your stuff out of backup, which will take forever.

Why do this if you have been infected with Antivirus 2008 when all you really need is a good antivirus program?
