Antivirus XP 2008 will show you fake threats so that you'll feel pressured and frightened into buying its paid version. Antivirus XP 2008 comes built-in with computer problems to try and scare you further.

The paid version will stop these problems for a few days. Then you'll start seeing some of the same symptoms, along with pop-ups for other fraudulent security "solutions".

What's worse is that Antivirus XP 2008 has probably opened you up to other sorts of spyware as well. Some spyware can read your credit card numbers if you ever type them in online. It can also read and record your passwords-very dangerous if you use PayPal!

So if this program has popped up on your computer, it's essential not only that you refuse to buy, but that you get some real anti-virus software (I'm partial to Spyzooka) to get rid of Antivirus XP 2008!

Computer acting up lately?  Has your desktop background frozen into something you don't want?  Has your firewall been turned off?  Can you no longer access Windows Control Panel?  It may be because you have something called Antivirus XP 2008. 

Despite its name, Antivirus XP 2008 is NOT a legitimate anti-virus program.  It is a fake program that will show you fraudulent threats in an attempt to scam you into buying an upgraded version.  It may also: 

Keep you from launching your favorite programs

Keep you from launching essential programs

Increase system vulnerability by turning off Windows Firewall

Keep you from turning on Firewall (as well as about 100 other things) by locking you out of Control Panel.

Frustrate you by changing your wallpaper and screensaver. 

As you can see, Antivirus XP 2008 won't just harm you by taking your money.  It's best to have it removed with some advanced and legitimate anti-spyware software, like Spyzooka.

Like XP Antivirus, Antivirus 2009, "XP Security Center", and many other fraudware programs, Antivirus XP 2008 is a fake piece of "protection" that can open up your bank account to criminals! 

Antivirus XP 2008 shows up on many computers showing supposed "threats" that need to be taken care of.  It recommends going in for the upgraded version--for a price--which then downloads into your computer and "fixes" the supposed threats. 

Many people who have purchased the "upgraded" versions of these programs later found that they had been billed a second time, often at a higher cost, by the same company that billed them for the "upgrade".   

Even if you don't go in for the "upgraded" version, you'll still want to use a legitimate anti-virus program to take care of it--you can bet it's not something good to have on your computer!
