Winweb Security Is a Tricky Bug

It’s almost embarrassing to admit that I got infected with a corrupt security tool.  Luckily for me, I didn’t actually buy Winweb Security.  I understand that things could have gotten much worse if I had.

I’d like to think I’m sort of computer savvy.  I don’t know any programming languages or anything, but I thought I could pretty much navigate the Internet without exposing myself to an infection like Winweb Security.  I guess there’s a first time for everything.

I heard from a friend that you can watch TV shows on the Internet.  I thought that was great in the event that I missed one of my favorite shows.  Of course, the first time I tried this out, I got infected by Winweb Security.  I didn’t know what was going on at first.

I did a Google search for free online TV.  I clicked on a link that my antispyware program said was okay.  I didn’t think anything of having to download a video codec to watch my show.  That’s when Winweb Security nabbed me.

I thought it was kind of strange that at this time a pop up told me that Winweb Security said I have infected files on my computer.  I didn’t remember anything from the Windows site about this feature.

After that, I got redirected to the Winweb Security home page.  The fact that I was redirected was weird to begin with.  What was really weird was that it wasn’t the Windows update page.  I got really suspicious at this point.

It said that I had to buy the full version of Winweb Security to get rid of my infection.  I saw the price tag and nearly fainted.  There’s no way I could pay that much to get rid of some infection!  That’s the point where I quit falling for the scam.  I was still fooled, but I wasn’t paying.

I got on my laptop to find reviews of Winweb Security.  Instead I found that it was a corrupt security tool.  It causes an infection to make people buy its program, which is worthless.  There were also mentions of it being able to steal my identity.

I figured that if I had to buy a new antispyware product since my other one had failed me, I would have to get the ultimate, the best.  I knew that everyone claims to be the best, so I decided to try a different angle.  I would search for 100% removal guarantees.  It doesn’t get any better than that, does it?  I wanted to make absolutely sure that I got rid of Winweb Security.

I found only one program that makes this kind of promise.  This program was SpyZooka.  I saw the five star ratings and the partnership with the Better Business Bureau.  That impressed me, but I wanted to know if it would take care of my problem.  I used the trial version, and it found Winweb Security within five minutes.

From there, I bought their full version, which was much cheaper than Winweb Security’s wanna-be program.  It killed it, and I haven’t had a problem since.  So far, I haven’t even had an infection to clean up.  Now that’s satisfaction!
